WIND SONG & CEDAR COVE
Four Generations of Fun on the North Shore
Garage and Wind Song Shed
The garage was built by Isaak Hansen & Sons in the 1980s. The Wind Song Shed used to be the outhouse!!

Garage Security: Contact Christa for information about the garage keys and the code for the garage. The service door is kept unlocked when people are at the cabin so that any packages can be delivered there.
Electricity: The circuit breaker for the garage is located by the service door and should be kept on all year round. All lights should be turned off when not in use.
EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES:

Mower: Fuel the mower with the highest octane gas available; do not mix oil with the fuel as it is a four stage engine. Periodically check the oil level on the mower.
Leaf blower: The leaf blower’s batteries are on a charger near the freezer. Use the blower to clean out driveway trenches, remove debris from decks, or light snow.

Chainsaws: There are two electric chainsaws; use the corded saw for larger cuts and the battery saw for smaller ones. Be sure to keep plenty of oil in the saws when cutting. Where safety glasses whenever using the chainsaws.
Window cleaning supplies: Window cleaning mop, squeegee and extension poles are located in the garage.
Freezer: The freezer chest can be used on a seasonal basis; it needs to be emptied and unplugged when the cabin is closed.
Little Red: To start Little Red, switch the small silver switch “on” to start the engine; turn switch off when leaving Little Red or battery will drain. Use only high octane gas. Use 2-wheel drive on normal roads and higher speeds; only use 4-wheel drive for steep hills. Be sure to park on flat surfaces or slight uphills; do not rely on gears to hold Little Red on hills or inclines. Check garage floor for leaks when moving Little Red. Insurance card for Little Red is in its [glove box]
Shed: The Wind Song shed contains some gardening tools (rakes, shovels, saws), canoe paddles and life preservers, and outdoor supplies.

MAINTENANCE:
-
clean garage floor with leaf/snow blower - as needed
-
use leaf/snow blower around outside of the garage to remove any leaves or debris touching the foundation and wood siding to prevent rot
-
change garage ceiling lights as needed
-
clean garage roof with bleach to prevent moss from growing under the overhanging cedar trees on Lake side. Climb onto peak of the roof and pour bleach so that it runs down roof surface. Alternatively, apply bleach using a spray pump over the roof surface - every three years.
-
remove debris from around the West and North side of the shed to prevent rot.
